Puckett’s Style of Southern Hospitality Opens in ‘Boro

Puckett’s Restaurant & Grocery Store started out in little Leiper’s Fork in Franklin, Tennessee. Since those humble beginnings they have opened up locations in downtown Franklin, downtown Nashville, Columbia and Chattanooga. You can now add Murfreesboro to the list of cities fortunate enough to have a location.

The Marshall Family are at the head of the Puckett’s ship and the man stirring is Andy Marshall. Mr. Marshall was kind enough to answer a couple questions about the opening after the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Q. The anticipation has been so high waiting on the opening in the community. How does it feel now that the day has come and the doors are open?

A. It feels great from our stand point, but I’ll tell you the truth, we didn’t have any idea that Murfreesboro was anticipating it to level that you speak of. We were, but it feels really good to know the community wants us here.

Q. What do you think this Puckett’s can bring to the community that might not already be here in Murfreesboro?

A. I don’t know that we bring anything that isn’t already here. But what we do bring is an organization that really cares. We hire people with servants heart, we run our operation the same way. What we do bring is we’re serious about what we’re doing, we love to serve. We will provide great food, great atmosphere, and great service. I’m sure that’s already here in Murfreesboro, we just do it at a different level that endures us to the people.

The General Manager and Front-of-the-House Manager will be Autumn Friese and Andy’s son, Cliff Marshall, respectively. Cliff was the manager at the Puckett’s in Chattanooga before coming to Murfreesboro to help out. He took some time out of his busy afternoon to answer a few question as well.

Q. How does it feel now that the day has come and Puckett’s is open for business in Murfreesboro?

A. We’re very, very excited about being open. It’s been a long process. We’ve been waning to be in Murfreesboro for years, really. The fact that we’re here, through my families history, we’re just excited to be a part of the town. Really help revitalize as much of the community as we can and be a part of the community.

Q. Speaking of being a part of the community. Your already doing that tonight by donating ten percent of the dinner proceeds from the opening to The Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford County.

A. My father, in his words, he was basically saved by The Boys & Girls Club when he was growing up. Ever since he’s been successful enough to help The Club, he’s done whatever he can all over Middle Tennessee.

Make sure to stop by soon and meet Cliff Marshall and the rest of the Puckett’s family at 114 N. Church St. right in downtown Murfreesboro on the square.
