The Gentle Barn, an animal sanctuary in Christiana, Tenn, is hosting their annual Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 22nd. The Gentle Barn is honoring their “Cuddle” turkeys and inviting everyone to come out and experience the incredible intelligence and healing traits of these animals. The message of The Gentle Barn’s Thanksgiving event is to acknowledge and celebrate the commitment to making the world a more compassionate place for animals and to teaching children how to heal and grow beyond the challenges they face.

“I started the tradition of a gentle Thanksgiving when founding The Gentle Barn 19 years ago,” says Ellie Laks, Founder of The Gentle Barn. “Cuddling turkeys, eating gourmet vegan food, and playing in a drum circle is a taste of the gentle world we’re trying to create each and everyday. It’s a world where we celebrate life, and where we come together for love and gentleness. Please come be part of our gentle world and break bread at our gentle table, we’d love to have you!”

Tickets for the event must be reserved ahead of time through the event page (website below). At each location, the special event begins at 3:00pm and will include feeding the resident turkeys some of their favorite treats such as cranberries, blueberries, and pumpkin pie.  There is a full, gourmet plant-based dinner provided by a group of sponsors that will feed more than 500 guests, followed by a Native American Drum Circle and traditional bonfire.  Companies who are sponsoring the event and providing holiday food and beverage and gifts include: Field Roast, Sun Chlorella, Outstanding Foods, BeTru, Zevia, Dr. Brite, Vegan Rob’s, Pacifica, Follow Your Heart, Original Sprout, and Dr. Bronner’s.
