Vine Street Market now belongs to Charlie and Danielle Gallipoli and is named Doodles Kitchen and Bakery. After completing some painting, redecorating and equipment upgrades, they reopened in Mid-July 2022.

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in New York, Danielle is a trained pastry chef, and Charlie also has experience in the food industry. Sarah Jackson, the former owner of Vine Street Market, helped the couple transition for a little while, and the same kitchen staff will remain on board as support. They will be keeping many of the same menu items with a few updates and additions.

“I would like to start by saying thank you,” said Jackson on Downtown Hotness. “The last four years have been a dream come true. As someone who just wanted to open a little shop, cook some things, and see if anyone showed up, you have all supported us in a way I never thought possible…I am excited for new things ahead, and I know you will all show Charlie and Danielle the same love and support you’ve given me.”

Located just off the downtown square in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Doodle’s Kitchen and Bakery is located next to the old Bank of America parking lot where the Norris Hall Mural is located.

The Gallipolis have four children ages two to 12, and the name “Doodles” is a nickname they have given their daughter.

They will continue to offer prepared food to heat at home like casseroles, meat and veggies, and soups in a takeout style market, as well as ready-to-eat items such as chicken salad, pimento cheese, pasta and other salads, sandwiches, and more. They will also serve a wide variety of baked goods.

Continuing in Jackson’s footsteps, the menu will vary by week. They have already been receiving rave reviews on their casseroles, including the Poppy Seed Chicken and the Chicken Parmesan Casseroles. Over the last few weeks they have also filled the cases with creamy sauce over sausage stuffed shells, meatless Mexican stuffed peppers, chicken bacon mac and cheese, oven baked chicken, barbecued chicken, pork with apples and onions, herb roasted potatoes, garlic smashed potatoes, mac and cheese, minestrone soup, potato soup, sausage and white bean soup, tomato soup, and yeast rolls.

They carry breakfast items like fresh cinnamon rolls and blueberry croissant breakfast casserole, which goes great with some of their Middle Tennessee State University Creamery chocolate milk, freshly brewed Brasshorn coffee or Harney and Sons tea.

A recent addition to their menu is charcuterie boxes. They are made from smoked gouda, sharp cheddar, Manchego, genoa salami, Sopressatta, hot salami, a marinated olive medley, fresh fruit, Asiago cheese straws, crackers and almonds. They are perfect for entertaining friends with a great glass of wine on a warm summer night.

This is still a perfect place to stop and pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner when you don’t feel like cooking.
