Victim Helps MPD Nab Armed Robbery Suspect

Just before 6:00am this morning, officers responded to 1350 Hazlewood in reference to an armed robbery.  The suspect approached a female and demanded her money and phone.  The victim complied and the suspect left the area.

At 9:38am this morning, officers responded to 2181 Old Fort Pkwy. in reference to another armed robbery of an individual.  Officers learned that the victim was robbed in a similar fashion to the earlier robbery.  The victim complied with the suspect’s demands but followed the suspect and notified police of his location.  The victim then took affirmative steps to make sure the suspect did not get away from the scene until responding officers arrived.  The suspect has been taken into custody and will be interviewed by detectives.
