Vanderbilt alum and Nashville resident Brandt Snedeker joined an elite group of players last Thursday when he shot a 59 at the Wyndham Championship.

In PGA Tour history only eight other individuals have ever shot under 60- Jim Furyk (twice), Al Geiberger, Chip Beck, David Duval, Paul Goydos, Stuart Appleby, Justin Thomas, and Adam Hadwin. He finished one shot away from matching Furyk’s tour record at 58.

Snedeker turned professional in 2004 and quickly made an impact. Three years after turning pro he earned a spot in the PGA Tour and was subsequently named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. He has had a successful career, including being ranked the 4th overall golfer in the world in 2013. He has 8 PGA tour wins (including the FedEx Cup), as well as compiling two 3rd place finishes, two top 5 finishes, and nine top 10 finishes in major championships.
