The TSSAA Girl’s State Championships begin Wednesday morning at The Murphy Center. Here’s a breakdown of the schedules and a look at the Riverdale girls run for the gold. Also, how construction will effect the week’s festivities.

Riverdale Girls Look To Grab Gold
The Riverdale Lady Warriors were kind of overlooked coming into the tournament, but, when Blackman fell early, Riverdale suddenly had everyone talking. It probably wasn’t fair to the Lady Warriors, it’s not their first rodeo with 4 State Championships including an ESPN National Champonship in 2013. With a 29-4 record and ranked second in the state and 19th in the country, according to Max Preps, The Lady Warriors come in with a bit of a chip on their shoulder . Their first game is Wednesday afternoon at the Murphy Center at 2:45.
The Lady Warriors are led by Ms. Basketball Finalist , Anastasia Hayes.(Winner to be announced tonight).Their first round opponent is Morristown-Hamblen West. The Lady Trojans come in ranked 4th in the State and 89th nationally (Max Preps) .
General admission tickets are $10 per day. There are six games per day from Wednesday – Friday. On Saturday, there will be one session of three championship games and general admission tickets are $12.
