Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA), Middle Tennessee’s largest orthopaedic surgery provider, is pleased to announce the addition of Brad M. Askam, M.D., Abiola A. Atanda, M.D. and Lucas K. Routh, M.D. to its extensive network of providers in Rutherford County.
Brad M. Askam, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma. Dr. Askam provides comprehensive fracture care of the upper extremity (shoulder, humerus, elbow, forearm, wrist, clavicle), lower extremity (hip, femur, knee, tibia, fibula, ankle, foot, calcaneus, and talus), pelvis, and acetabulum. Dr. Askam also treats complications related to fractures including nonunion, malunion, infection, and osteomyelitis. He sees patients that are acutely injured in the emergency department setting, as well as outpatient referrals. Dr. Askam will begin seeing patients at TOA’s Murfreesboro location beginning September 10, 2018.
Dr. Abiola A. Atanda is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in spine surgery. He is highly interested in the surgical care to people who have experienced degenerative disease, deformity, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, trauma, tumors, and infections affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral regions of the spine. Dr. Atanda will begin seeing patients at TOA’s Murfreesboro location beginning September 4, 2018.
Lucas K. Routh, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint replacement surgery. Dr. Routh is specialized in the direct anterior approach to the hip, as well as posterior and direct lateral approaches. Dr. Routh performs minimally invasive, unicompartmental (partial) knee replacement surgery and also has an interest in performing outpatient, same-day hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Routh is now seeing patients at TOA’s Murfreesboro and Smyrna locations.
