Although school has just ended, it’s already time to start thinking about tax-free weekend.
Last year, legislation moved the annual sales tax holiday up one weekend.
Tax-free weekend will be held during the last Friday in July through the following Sunday. The dates for this year’s sales tax holiday are Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30.
During the sales holiday, consumers will not pay state or local sales tax on clothing, school and art supplies that cost $100 or less per item and computers that cost $1,500 or less. Tennessee had its first sales tax holiday in 2007.
