Taste of Latin America Comes to Patterson Park

Bradley Academy and Murfreesboro City Schools invites the community to A Taste of Latin America on Saturday, October 26 at Patterson Park from 10 am until 2 pm. This free event offers students and families the opportunity to experience Latin American food, music, student art, dances, and activities.

The Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra will showcase a variety of music from Latin America beginning at 11 a.m.

“We want to celebrate the cultural diversity in our community,” says Raeshon Torres, Principal, Bradley Academy. “This event offers a unique glimpse to the many sides of the Latino community including its dynamic musical heritage.”

The day includes performances from the Bradley Academy choir, Latin dance, cultural themed face painting, food tasting cuisines from Latin American countries and craft activities with a Latin focus.

Timeline for the day includes:

10:00 – 11:00 Family activities for children & STEM exhibit including face painting, arts & crafts
10:30 – 10:45 Bradley Bobcat Singers
11:00 – 12:00 Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra
12:15 – 12:45 Dance group Cielito Lindo (Ballet Folklórico)
12:00 – 1:30 Food tasting
12:00 – 2:00 Family activities and STEM Exhibit
12:00 – 2:00 Students monologue of four famous Latino American characters
