Sun Country Airlines announced the addition of three new seasonal nonstop routes from Nashville International Airport (BNA) to its growing network. Sun Country will offer nonstop service to Los Angeles, Portland, Ore. and Providence, R.I. with fares as low as $69* one-way. These routes will bring Sun Country’s total nonstop offerings from BNA to nine, which also includes Tampa, New Orleans, Orlando, Fort Myers, Miami and Minneapolis. Nashville area residents can book their flights now at suncountry.com.

“We’re excited to continue expanding our offerings for both Nashville residents and those looking to visit Music City,” said Chief Commercial Officer Ted Botimer in a release. “Our focus on low fares and great customer service has been a great fit in this market, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Nashville International Airport.”

“Today’s announcement of three additional routes from Sun Country Airlines is great news for Nashville and our entire region,” said Doug Kreulen, Nashville International Airport president and CEO. “Our passengers can now fly nonstop to Portland, Ore., a destination that has been a top domestic target for many months. Providence, R.I., is also a new destination for BNA, and additional LAX service creates competition in the market with more flight options, which often leads to lower rates. We appreciate Sun Country’s commitment to BNA and look forward to its continual growth in Nashville.”

    • Service starts April 8, 2019

This addition is part of a larger network expansion announced by Sun Country Airlines, their largest addition of routes in the company’s history as a scheduled service airline, which includes 19 new routes and seven new airports. The airline has been experiencing record growth over the past year. Sun Country first added new routes beyond its home base of Minneapolis/St. Paul in June 2018, bringing on service from Dallas-Fort Worth, Madison, Portland and St. Louis, which brought the network at the time from 53 to 64 nonstop routes. Nashville was added in August 2018, and after this announcement, the airline will operate a total of 86 routes across 53 airports, which marks a nearly 40 percent growth in routes since June 2018. Sun Country operated as a charter airline until 1999, at which time it launched scheduled service with an initial 22 routes offered in total.

New airports being added to Sun Country’s network are Dulles International Airport (IAD), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Sacramento International Airport (SMF), San Antonio International Airport (SAT), and T.F. Green Airport, Providence (PVD)
