Strong to severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds are the main concern, but quarter-sized hail and an isolated tornado or two are possible.
Best chance for severe weather will likely be in the afternoon to early evening
All of Middle TN, greatest threat for those along & west of I-24. Just because we will have some showers/t’storms by mid-morning to lunchtime, don’t let your guard down into the afternoon and early evening. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings if one is issued for your area.
In addition to the severe weather potential, it will be quite windy throughout the day. A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of Middle TN from until 7 PM CDT Sunday night.

Mother’s Day could be stormy, says National Weather Service (NWS).
NWS reports strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from late morning through the afternoon and into the evening on Sunday.
The primary concern is damaging wind gusts. However, 1″ hail, an isolated tornado or two, and localized flooding in heavy downpours are all possible.
All of Middle Tennessee is under at least a marginal risk of severe storms. Areas around Waverly, Waynesboro & Lawrenceburg are under a slight risk
and could see the most significant impacts.
Rain chances will linger into Monday. Showers are also possible Wednesday & Thursday. Temperatures will remain below normal Monday through Friday.
