It was a rough night on the road for the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks. Overton proved too much for Stewarts Creek with big plays and Stewarts Creek didn’t help themselves with too many penalties.
Big Plays and Penalties.
Seems that just when the Red Haks would have Overton in a bind, the Bobcats would find a way out. Like when the Bobcats Jackson , a QB who has committed to UT as a DB, 9 carries for 116 yards . Problem was 3 of those carries were for TDs . 2 of those TDs came on third down and longs . Both of those TD runs were over 40 yards.
Penalties didn’t help either. The Red Hawks found themselves in constant problems with the red flag. A total of 60 yards in penalties, many drive killers, were another of the problems that Stewarts Creek faced. 50 of those penalty yards came in the first half . Overton led 28-0 at the half.
Stewarts Creek Has Work To Do
It wasn’t just the penalties, it was also turnovers. 3 fumbles on the night didn;t help the Red Hawks on. That and the passing game seemed to struggle until the 4th quarter, when the game was well out of hand. The Red Hawks have a lot to work on and a short time to get there as they take on Smyrna at home next Friday night. Smyrna is coming off a 38-20 dismantling of La Vergne last night.
