The Riverdale Lady Warriors stayed in the winners bracket of the District 7-AAA softball tournament by defeating Blackman, 6-1, Tuesday.
Maddie Cochran and Brooke McClure led the way for Riverdale at the plate, driving in two runs apiece.
Stewarts Creek stayed alive, pounding LaVergne, 18-3, scoring eight times in the first inning to take control of the game. Loryn Sherwood belted a grand slam for the Lady Red Hawks.
Smyrna also stayed alive in the tournament, eliminating Oakland, as the Lady Bulldogs posted a 7-1 win over the Lady Patriots. Katie Killen was the hitting star for Smyrna, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Central Magnet dropped a 9-6 decision against Livingston Academy in District 8-AA tournament play.
In District 9-A tourney play, Eagleville dropped a 1-0 decision ot Moore County, and
Community hammered Middle Tennessee Christian, 12-0.
