For the month of November, some of our citizens may notice something unusual about some of our officers. The Smyrna Police Department has decided to participate in No Shave November. So some of our officers may be growing a beard.

Officers that participate must donate $25.00 with all proceeds going to fight cancer. The Smyrna Police Department is not unlike many families in our community in that we have all been affected by cancer over the past few years.

The goal of No Shave November is to grow cancer awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow. Money is raised by donating the money you would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.

Officers must keep the beard groomed properly. For more information citizens can go to the web site of www.no-shave.org.
