One person was injured in an industrial accident at the Smyrna Nissan manufacturing plant on Wednesday.
According to Rutherford County officials, the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene to transport the victim at 11:00 a.m.
The employee died this morning according to a statement from Nissan:
“We can confirm that a Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant employee was involved in an incident yesterday and transported to the hospital where he passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the employee’s family during this difficult time. The safety and well-being of our team members continues to be Nissan’s top priority.”
