Siegel High School special education teacher, Joy Colston, is the winner of the first Boro Blessings campaign to honor a local educator for outstanding service to their students.

Colston has organized and raised funds for the Rutherford County RISE (Re-education and Intervention for Student Education) Prom, an event specifically designed to create a magical night of fun for these students at Siegel High.

Red Realty and Murfreesboro.com partnered with Chick-fil-A, Hilton Garden Inn, The Alley on Main, Bombshells Salon, Flower Box Nashville, 615 Collection, and Dandy DJ to surprise Colston in Siegel’s library. Through this campaign, a check for $2000 and $300 in cash and prizes were donated to Colston.

This is the power of community support for our schools,” said Caroline Ott, BETA club sponsor at Siegel.

Money and services were donated to ensure RISE Prom is a success and continues to be a success in the future. Chik-Fil-A has stepped up to take over the organization and funding of the event after Colston retires.
