Siegel High School band students spent the summer taking their craft across the nation as members of the Music City Drum and Bugle Corps.
In May, Dominic Castorino, Owen Carter, Peyton Brown and Will Bell traded the comfort of their home for a gym floor as a bed and spent days entirely outside. The corps spent several weeks learning a complicated marching show complete with music, visuals, running and dance work.
All of which needed to be perfectly timed.
After learning the show, all four Siegel members and the rest of the corps traveled by charter buses and began taking their show around the country. Members not only performed each night, but also spent their days changing and perfecting the production.
The corps ends their nationwide tour the weekend of August 9 at the Drum Corps International Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
After performing their last show, they pack up their gear and drove from Indianapolis to Murfreesboro, and started the 2019-20 school year on Monday, August 12.
Looked at as leaders in the Siegel High School community, they left a national legacy of excellence and paved the way for more students to march in Drum Corps International.
