Last season Siegel hammered Stewarts Creek 43-2 in the season opener.
What a difference a year makes.
Using a ballhawking defense that forced five Stars turnovers and an opportunistic rushing attack led by junior Savion Davis, the Red Hawks blanked Siegel 28-0 in front of the home crowd.
The win over Siegel, marked the second win over a Rutherford county program (LaVergne in 2016 was the first) and the third shut out in school history, it was also only the second time that Stewarts Creek opened the season with a win (2015 was the first).
The Red Hawks led 3-0 at the half as senior kicker Joel Aguerro connected on a 30 yard field goal and Stewarts Creek put the game away with a 22 point third quarter.
