Rutherford Weekend: 5 Things to do This Weekend

1. Family Fun Day

WHAT: The Murfreesboro Jr. Patriots and the City of Murfreesboro presents a Free Family Fun Day for all ages. There will be inflatables, Free Food including hotdogs and hamburgers, drinks, Games, a scavenger hunt, Live Entertainment, and Shoe Giveaways There will also be food trucks, face painting, fun relays, and karaoke. Join them this Saturday for a little fun and to support our young athletes in Murfreesboro.

2. Summer Open House

WHAT: Harley Davidson is hosting a family-friendly open house.Bounce Houses for the kids, free lunch, beverages available, LIVE music by The Hacky-Sacks. Door prizes every hour from 11am-3pm.

3. Pop-Up Dog Park

WHAT: La Vergne’s Parks and Rec Department is hosting a “Pop-up Dog Park” for one day only as a way to help you show your support for a dog park in our community! Come out to the football field at Veterans Memorial Park on June 22nd from 9 am – 11 am. The back baseball field will be made into a makeshift dog park for the morning to bring the City’s dogs, owners and supporters together!

The City of La Vergne has applied for the #DogParkDash grant which would give us $25,000 to put a dog park in #LaVergne.

4. Family Science Fun

WHAT: The La Vergne Public Library is hosting a family fun project to build and launch a rocket! Bring your kids and learn how to build a rocket and launch it. Then experiment on your own.

WHEN: Saturday, June 22, from 2-3 pm

5. Pop-UpRight Shakespeare at Carpe Artista in Smyrna!

WHAT: Nashville Shakes takes the Bard to Smyrna for Pop-UpRight Shakespeare #4! Carpe Artista, a non-profit arts education organization in the heart of Smyrna, is hosting the event. Directed by Tessa Bryant, a cast of fantastic Nashville actors will gather, relatively unrehearsed, to put on one of Shakespeare’s more rarely-produced plays.

Tickets are $10 in advance ($12 at the door if we have space)
