1. Stones River Service Day
WHAT: Help remove invasive exotic plants in one of the most important areas of the battlefield, the Slaughter Pen. All volunteers must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Also recommend is light long sleeve shirts, insect repellent and sunscreen. Volunteers should also bring a water bottle.
WHEN: Saturday, July 20 from 8:30a- 12:30p

WHAT: Grab your cape or #ComicCon best and join the first annual, “PAWMICON”! If you like to dress up, love dogs in costumes or just pets in general- you don’t want to miss this! The event will include activities for the kids (adults you can enjoy too), dog costume contest for the public (begins at 11a), courtesy goodie bags/give-a-ways, drawing & more! Dog costume contest begins at 11a- 1st-3rd place winners will be crowned, with prizes from @gametrader & more! You may also take advantage of the “PAWMICON” adoption special including, dog adoption fees ranging from $1-$5, adult cat (ages 1 year+) adoption fees waived & kitten adoption fees ‘Name-your-own-price’! This adoption special runs July 18-21!

3. 52nd Annual Murfreesboro Antique Show
WHAT: One of the South’s oldest antique show and sales, always held the third weekend in July. For 52 years we have brought some of the finest antique dealers to Middle TN

4. SDFM Water Day
WHAT: Come on out and cool off with water balloon fights and water gun wars. Water balloon fights kick off at 9:30a. Water gun wars begin at 10:15a. Bring towels, smiles, and a good throwing arm. Prizes for each event will be handed out at the end of the event

5. La Vergne Block Party
WHAT: Get to know your neighbor at the first-ever city-wide La Vergne Block Party! Everyone in the city is invited to come out to the front parking lot at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive, on Saturday, July 20th from 5:00p until 9:00p. There will be food trucks, face painting, live music and bounce houses for the kids. The La Vergne Police Department and Fire Department will also be on hand to talk to kids and show them the tools they use to keep our community safe every day.
