1. 2nd Annual African Drum and Dance Festival
WHAT: Spotlighting 36 years of Nananom Dance Ensemble of Ghana. Events throughout the day include Drum & Dance Lessons, Free African Dance Concert, African Market Day Scene, Colloquim (The Washington Theatre), International Cultural Village, African Village (Africa Akrowa), Drum Parade, Drum Circle, Torgbuio Ke (Root of Elders/Royals), Emmanuel’s Book Drive, and a Health and Wellness Stand. All ages are welcome. Dances to be performed are from the following countries: Nigeria, Guinea, Senegal, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, and Congo. 2. Project Joy
WHAT: Friends from Camp STEM will be joining the Technology Engagement Center this Saturday for September’s TinkerTEC and debuting a new camp called Camp STEAM!
Adding Art to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math is important as inquiry and problem-based learning methods, or tinkering, are used in the creative process. Such programs offer projects that are science-based, but also incorporate artistic expression.
Project Joy allows you to blend science and art to create something beautiful!

3. Bark Bash
WHAT: Bark Bash: A Festival for Dog Lovers on the beautiful grounds of the Historic Sam Davis Home and Plantation. Bring your pup for a full day of doggie fun. Join the doggie costume contest, the pooch parade and so much more. Enjoy live music and grab lunch from the Food Truck, “That’s My Dawg”. There will be loads of vendors on site to help make this a true celebration of our furry friends. Music City Animal Rescue, Proverbs 12:10 Rescue, Middle Tennessee German Shepherd Rescue, Lucky Farms Animal Rescue, Volunteer State Doberman Rescue, Middle Tennessee Treasures and Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary will also be there with some adoptable dogs.
If you only plan to attend the Festival (and not tour the historic house) the admission is $10 per person. Admission to the home is as follows:

4. Smyrna Depot Days
WHAT: Depot Days has become a big deal in the Town of Smyrna. Every year the event gets BIGGER and BETTER!!! On September 27th & 28th, 2019, thousands will once again flood Front Street for the 13th Annual Depot Days. There will be over 100 booths of vendors, food, businesses, beer garden and local artisans represented at Depot Days. There will be live music on the Performance Stage, and the Carpe Cafe stage. There will be inflatables for the kids to jump on at no charge, and train rides for only $1 as well as many other kid-friendly activities. This is a family fun packed weekend!
The prelude to Depot Days is a classic car cruise in, Friday night, September 27th as well as a wine tasting by Smyrna Divine Wine & Spirits from 6pm – 9pm with proceeds to benefit a charity in Smyrna. The morning of the 28th, Depot Days kicks takes place 10am- 4pm with over 100 vendors.

5. 6th Annual Family Fun Day
WHAT: This Saturday, Family Hobbies in Smyrna is hosting Family Fun Day! Radio control car racing in the parking lot between 10am and 2pm. The vehicles are provide by Traxxas and the cost is FREE!! Between 2pm – 4pm bring your vehicle and play on the track! There will be giveaways ALL DAY, freebies, and SALES throughout the whole store!
