Rutherford Weekend: 5 Things to do This Weekend

1. Boro Pride 2019

WHAT: The fourth annual Boro Pride event takes place in downtown Murfreesboro this weekend. Admission is free for this event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. Musical acts, community information tables, and food vendors make this a favorite outing for all ages. Featured Bands include: Flummox, Sisters Mann, The Hardin Draw, The Dead Deads. Official Cast List includes Veronica Paige, Noah Hunter Dabbs, Roman Jaxson Ortiz, Nicole Richards, Kasta Charm, Justin Robinson, Kaedyn Camryn, Chase Dakota Eli Poisson, Nova Sparks Taylor, Chris Walburn, Kristina McLaughlin, IONA. Boro Pride is a program of Tennessee Equality Project Foundation.

2. Hummingbird Festival

WHAT: Celebrate these amazing creatures as they get ready to embark on a magnificent journey thousands of miles away. Guest speaker and Master Hummingbird Bander Cyndi Routledge of Southeastern Avian Research will share her knowledge and experience with these flying gems.

Children’s activities, hummingbird merchandise, and much more awaits at this popular end-of-summer event!

**Hummingbird Banding is a special part of the event, and will occur from 8:00am -10:00 am (depending on the presence of birds).

3. Back to School Splash

WHAT: Take a splash in the indoor pool with friends from school.

WHEN: September 7, 2019, 11am – 1pm

WHERE: Patterson Park, 521 Mercury Blvd, Murfreesboro

4. Fix it +Block Party

WHAT: Mark your calendars for this great Fix It + Block Party event with Lowe’s instructing on basic home repairs. There will be prizes every 15 minutes and special prizes given to all who complete the training. Everyone is invited! Hot dogs, drinks, music, games, bouncy houses for the kids, and a bronco bull.

There is no cost for you and no RSVP necessary. This will be hosted on the Academy side of Greenhouse Ministries.

5. Barn Dance

WHAT: Live Music, Great Food, Drinks and Dancing at the historic barn. Bluegrass, Country and a little of everything in between is sure to make this a fun night to remember.
