Rutherford Weekend: 5 Things to do This Weekend

1. Rutherford Parent’s Fall Kids Fest (RESCHEDULED FOR NOV 2)

WHAT: Halloween hoots and autumnal fun galore await your family during Rutherford Parent’s Fall Kids Fest at The Avenue Murfreesboro on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Admission is free.

Kids can have fun bouncing on inflatables, scaling the climbing wall and participating in other fun activities. Kids can also pick out a small pumpkin (while supplies last, so get there early). You can visit an array of local vendors and enjoy live entertainment throughout the day.

Two costume contests for kids take place — one for babies and tots ages 6 months – 2 years, and the other for older kids ages 3 – 10. Participating kids will be entered into random drawings for cool prizes.

WHERE: The Avenue Murfreesboro, 2615 Medical Center Parkway, Murfreesboro

2. Harvest Days at Cannonsburgh Village (EVENT CANCELED DUE TO RAIN)

WHAT: Free for all ages! Travel back in time and enjoy handmade crafts, hayrides, story-telling, hands-on demonstrations, food trucks and much more! Music and dancing from Cripple Creek Cloggers, 231 South Band, Uptown Country, and Mid State Cloggers.

3. Barfield Bash

WHAT: This is a great event for the whole family. Activities include:
• Carnival games and prizes
• Costume contests
• Food
• Music
• Dancing
• Cake walks and more!

Free admission; fee for game tickets and food. For an additional fee, take a ride on the Twilight Trail ($5 per person, 5pm – 7pm) or the Haunted Hayride – Old Scream Road ($5 per person, 7pm – 9pm)

4. Goblins and Goodies at the Park

WHAT: Check out this annual free trick-or-treating event, Goblins and Goodies at the Park, on October 26th at Veterans Memorial Park from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

There will be hayrides, a pumpkin patch, and plenty of candy for all your little goblins and ghouls!

WHEN: Saturday, October 26 from 1pm – 3pm

5. Halloween in the Park

WHAT: This is the 23rd annual Halloween in the Park! Hayrides, Haunted Hayrides, Games, Free Inflatables, Pie Eating Contest, Train Rides, Haunted House, Corn Maze, Food Vendors & Over 80 Booths AND of course a costume contest! A fun filled evening for kids and adults.

WHEN: Saturday, October 26 from 3pm – 8:30pm

WHERE: Sharp Springs Natural Area, Smyrna
