Rutherford Weekend: 5 Things to do This Weekend

1. 2019 Boro International Festival

WHAT: Celebrate the world at Cannonsburgh Village on Saturday, October 19th from 11a-4p. There will be international arts & crafts, food, games, music and dance performances.

WHERE: Cannonsburgh Village, 312 S. Front Street, Murfreesboro

2. Family Campout

WHAT: It’s still backpacking, but made as family-friendly as possible. Begin with an easy 1-mile hike to the campground. Once there, park staff will be on hand to help you set up and settle in. Various activities will be planned throughout the night for you to choose to participate in or just relax in front of the campfire. Dinner and breakfast will be provided and are included in your registration fee. Guided Night Hikes, Owl Prowls, Children’s Activities and Games, Campfire Fun, and Music will make this camping experience a night to remember. Tents (2-person & 4-person), ground cloths, sleeping pads, and backpacks (available in both youth and adult sizes) are available by request when registering to camp. Don’t forget to schedule your Wilderness Awareness Workshop when you register – this workshop is required before you camp. Register at murfreesborotn.gov/parks and call 615-217-3017 with questions.

3. Night at the Museum

WHAT: Calling all Youth! Come explore the museum at night. You will go on a tour of the museum after dark, play games, watch movies create art and so much more. For ages 14-17.

WHEN: Saturday, October 19, 7p to Sunday, October 20, 7am

WHERE: Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center, 415 S. Academy St., Murfreesboro

4. Ghost Tours

WHAT: This is a spooktacular event that is fun for the whole family. Bigger than ever….this year is sure to make your spine tingle as you tour this historic property in the dark. Meet ghosts from the past, hear some of the most haunted tales in Tennessee, enter the historic house in the dark (if you dare) take the haunted hayride..and so much more. *Regular Admission Rates Apply *Last tour begins at 9pm each night.

5. Cars and Coffee Cruise-in

WHAT: Come for the cars and conversation, stay for the coffee & donuts! Traditions of Smyrna is hosting a car show, featuring a Residents’ Choice Award! Refreshments generously provided by FOX Rehab
