1. Dino Days
WHAT: To celebrate National Fossil Day and the Tennessee STEAM festival, Earth Experience Natural History museum is hosting Dino Days Friday October 12 and Saturday October 13. Activities run Friday from 2pm until 9pm and Saturday from 11am until 4pm.
The museum has out grown its current location and several large displays are in storage but for Dino Days we will get them out and set them up in the parking lot of the museum. This includes our full size Stegosaurus statue.
The museum will be a host sight for the Boro Art Crawl October 12 from 6-9pm. We are a regular stop on the Boro Art Crawl and this will be an extra special one since it is also part of the STEAM festival. The A in STEAM stands for Art.
Students from MTSU Department of Geosciences will have a fossil dig set up for kids. And Geoscience faculty will be on hand to identify your rocks and fossils.

2. Fainting Goat Festival
WHAT: The festival that began in honor of those famous fainting goats of Marshall County returns for its 16th year at Rock Creek Park in Lewisburg, TN and this year’s lineup of goat shows, musical entertainment and activities for the whole family promises to draw crowds from all across the nation and beyond.
The Goats, Music and More Festival has been honored by the Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 Event for October twice with its unique southern flavor, top-notch free musical entertainment, goat shows that celebrate fainting and Boer goats, barbecue, food of every description, arts and crafts and kids games and activities.
Vendors of all kinds will line the road at Rock Creek Park beginning Friday morning with anything and everything for which a festival could ask. There is always great food, arts and crafts, unique products of all kinds and more.
For the kids, the Goats, Music and More Festival features a whole section of games and activities including pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce house, mechanical bull and a 35’ slide. There are so many fun activities you just have to come and see for yourself.

3. Bavarian Oktoberfest
WHAT: Join The Green Dragon for their traditional German-Style Oktoberfest! Their parking lot will be full of big tents and serve liters and 1/2 liters of great German lagers. You can expect beverages from Schneider, Franziskaner, Hofbrau and Spaten, bratwurst, kraut and other great food, traditional Oompah music from great bands and much fun with new and old friends! This is a rain or shine event. Ticket price includes Hofbrau 1/2 liter souvenir glass mug and your first beer. This is a rain or shine event! Tickets are $12.60.

4. Blessing of the Animals
WHAT: Join All Saints’ Smyrna in the Blessing of the Animals. In the honor of St. Francis, we will bless our animals who have blessed us with their friendship. Each animal will receive a certificate. Photos available.

5. Fall Handmade Market
WHAT: D&Co. Markets presents the Fall Handmade Market. In addition to handmade goods, the event will feature an indoor pumpkin patch, a fall themed set up for free photos, and vendors dressed up and passing out treats for little ones to “trick or treat”.
Plus, enjoy food and drink vendors, like cotton candy, crepes and southern style food vendor, so come see us for lunch too!
