1. Campfire and Total Lunar Eclipse
WHAT: The Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center at Sharp Springs Natural Area is hosting a special event for families to get together and view the total lunar eclipse. Stay warm by the campfire and enjoy s’mores. There’s a small $2 fee per person and registration is suggested through the outdoor community pass. There’s no need to worry about the late night before school since school is out for MLK day. So enjoy the night sky and the view with family and friends. 2. Final Days of Winterfest at Fountains at Gateway
WHAT: The last days of the Winterfest at Fountains at Gateway are this weekend. Winterfest creates a magical experience for all ages with an ice skating rink. If you haven’t gone, you should definitely experience it, and if you have, enjoy one last skate before they close until the next holiday season. 3. 8th Annual Wedding Dresses Through the Decades
WHAT: Back for it’s 8th year, this exhibit brings the stories of our community to life through wedding gowns at Oaklands Mansion. Step back into time and experience the common threads that weave our lives together as we explore women’s history, fashion history, cultural history and the history of our community. Over 50 gowns will be placed on loan and exhibited, most for the first time. Check out their website for more information and to purchase tickets.

4. Ultra-Coffee Marathon
WHAT: Want to be fit, but need a reason to exercise? Do you love Coffee? Then this ultra-marathon is made for you. Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation is hosting the 50 mile coffee marathon once again to help you kick off the year. While it may seem like a lot of miles you have almost 4-months to complete it, breaking down to roughly half a mile a day if you start this weekend. Even if you run only on Saturday or Sunday it’s just over a mile and a half a day. When you sign up, you’ll receive 12 different maps, each which starts at a different coffee shop. 5. Adulting 101 Class
WHAT: People have been laughing and pointing out all the adulting classes happening around the country. However, Linebaugh has jumped in and started hosting their own adulting 101 course, so far happening monthly. They just started last month with cursive writing. This month, they’re working on resume building and interview skills. It’s geared specifically for teens ages 12-18. For teens looking to get their first job soon, this is a great opportunity to start their job searching process.
