Congratulations, Patrol Capt. Chris Haynes
Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh promoted Patrol Lt. Chris Haynes to captain over the Patrol Division today.
Capt. Haynes joined the Sheriff’s Office in January 1992 as a detention officer. He was promoted to patrol deputy in July 1992. He was assigned to the Narcotics Division on a part-time basis while still working as a patrol deputy and promoted as a detective in the Narcotics Division in 1995.
He was promoted sergeant to supervise the Criminal Interdiction Team in 1997 and was promoted to lieutenant of the team in 2001.
Haynes returned to the Patrol Division as a shift lieutenant for the midnight shift in 2014.
He served as a K-9 handler for 10 years and the SWAT Team for three years.
Haynes completed the Institute of Police Technology and Management’s Commander School and the FBI LEEDA Executive Command Leadership Course.
