Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes New State-Certified Deputies

Eight Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy. Eight Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies graduated Friday from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) and are now officially state-certified law enforcement officers. The graduates are:

• Deputy Tyler Armstrong
• Deputy Ryan Bauer
• Deputy James MacDavid
• Deputy Daniel Mantor
• Deputy Dylan Pratt
• Deputy Tyler Purvis
• Deputy Natalie Woodward
• Deputy Nickolas Davenport

The deputies completed nine weeks of basic orientation and additional weeks training with a field training officer at the Sheriff’s Office. Their 12-week TLETA coursework included classes on laws, legal issues, firearms, crisis intervention, domestic violence tactics, criminal investigations, gangs, traffic stops, defensive tactics, and physical training.
