Rutherford County Chief Information Officer Cody York received the Murfreesboro Technology Council Leadership Award at the Future of Work Is Human + AI event held at The Fountains at Gateway.

The award recognizes York’s leadership and vision in strengthening the county’s technological infrastructure and advancing digital innovation. Nominations for the annual award are accepted throughout the year.

York has served as Rutherford County’s CIO for six years, leading efforts in cybersecurity, infrastructure modernization, and digital transformation. He also serves on the Tennessee Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council and chairs the Rutherford County Library Board.

Mayor Joe Carr praised York’s contributions, highlighting his expertise and impact on the community. York credited the award to the collaboration of dedicated teams that help make local government more efficient, secure, and responsive to residents.
