Riverdale’s defense led the Warriors to a win last week, and it did it again against Franklin on Friday.
The Warriors held Franklin to 207 yards of total offense, as Riverdale beat the Rebels, 24-7, in Franklin on Friday.
Riverdale running back Savion Davis ran for three scores, and finished with 206 yards rushing on 30 carries.
However, it wasn’t all good for Riverdale. Quarterback Christian Souffrant, who rushed for 114 yards, was forced from the game.
A source inside the program said that Souffrant broke his leg. Sophomore Taylor Yancey is expected to replace him.
Riverdale (2-0) led 14-0 at the break and had 402 yards of offense.
Franklin’s Garrison Glover had a first-half interception.
Matt Gaca led the Rebels with 10.5 tackles, seven solo, 1 1/2 for loss. He also accounted for Franklin’s only points on a 48-yard touchdown run with 2:47 left in the third quarter.
Franklin (0-2) travels to Ravenwood next week, while Riverdale hosts Siegel.
