The USA Today Top 25 rankings have been released and Riverdale’s own Lady Warriors come in at the #1 spot. A ranking that comes as no surprise to anyone who follows high school hoops in Tennessee.

The Lady Warriors enter the 2017-18 campaign as back-to-back state champions and have won the AAA title five times since 2010. Last season head coach, Randy Coffman and his Lady Warriors completed their championship season with a mark of 34-0. The Ladies have not lost a game since February of 2016 and have started this season 2-0.

While being ranked #1 nationally has its added pressures, the largest hurdle this year’s team will have to overcome is life without Tennessee’s Miss Basketball, Anastasia Hayes. With Hayes now on Rocky Top, coach Coffman will look to senior leaders and proven winners like, MTSU commits, Alexis & Amanda Whittington and Vandy commit Bri Alexander, to continue their winning ways.

The Lady Warriors will be in action next on Friday, November 24 when they take on Alabama’s Hazel Green Lady Trojans.
