The timing may not the best but in the end a chance to coach at one of the best Class 6A schools in the state was too good to pass up for Kyle Shoulders.

Shoulders, has resigned as the head coach at Red Boiling Springs and will head to Rutherford County and will have a dual role of special teams Coordinator and will coach running backs for coach Kevin Creasy at Oakland.

“I am excited to be an Oakland Patriot. Coach Creasy has been a friend of mine for sometime and I consider him one of the best in the business and look forward to getting to work with him and his staff,” Shoulders said.

“I have witnessed first hand what Kevin Creasy coached football teams are about by coaching against him while he was at Trousdale Co. and feel that our philosophies closely align.”

Shoulders, 33, led the Bulldogs program for the last seven years and took the program to uncharted territory as they made the playoffs for the first time in school history in 2014.
