Police Report : Robbery Gone Wrong At Murfreesboro Sports Bar

Description Of Offense : Strong-Armed Robbery

On 9/19/17 at approximately 0227 hours, Officer A was dispatched to 1720 Old Fort Parkway at Sam’s Sports Bar, in reference to a strong armed robbery call.

Upon arrival the officer spoke with an employee/bartender. She advised that while she was cleaning behind the bar a white male subject jumped over the counter top behind the bar and demanded her to open the cash register.

The bartender told the white male subject that there wasn’t a cash register back there and the subject demanded again. The subject paced around for a short time then jumped back over the bar and ran out the front door. The bartender advised that there was a black male subject standing outside the restaurant near the front door.

The white male subject was wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, blue bandanna, about 6 feet tall and had a medium build. The black male subject was wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants, skinny build and possibly wearing a blue bandanna also.

Both suspects ran out the front door of the business going towards Old Fort Parkway. The suspects did not get any cash from the business. One suspect was later apprehended at City Auto and the other at the parking lot of Freight Harbor on Bridge Avenue.

The manager at Sam’s Sports Bar was able to review the restaurant’s surveillance camera. Both suspects that were apprehended matched the descriptions on the video. A detective responded to the scene to investigate further.
