Description Of Offense : Attempted Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault
On 1/30/2018 at 0035 hours, Officer A responded to 2874 Medical Center Parkway (McDonald’s) in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at 0020.
When the officer arrived on scene they made contact with an employee. The employee stated that a black male, 6’0″ with a black stocking cap, blue jeans and a black jacket, came into the store from a side door as employees were leaving.
The suspect ran into the store and pointed a black 9mm handgun at the employee and others, telling them to go to the back of the store. The suspect ordered the employee to open the safe. The employee stated that he told the suspect he couldn’t open the safe because it was too dark. The suspect then turned his back on the employee. The employee used the moment to attack the suspect. The suspect then pistol whipped the employee in the head and ran out of the store the same way he came in.
The employee stated that the suspect did not get anything. Unknown direction of travel and no further suspect description at this time. A detective arrived on scene the same time as the officer. Security footage will be pulled to further investigate the case.
