Description Of Offense : Kidnapping ( Attempted )
On 8/2/17 at approximately 0510, Officer A was dispatched to 1210 Hazelwood Street [ APT. # OMITTED ] in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival the officer came into contact with the complainant and the victim who is the complainant’s mother. The victim did not speak English so the complainant translated.
The complainant stated that his mother came home and was able to make it to her front door when a subject described as a lighter skinned black male with a slim build and short hair, wearing a beige jacket and blue jeans jumped out of the bushes* near her apartment door and began to grab her.
The subject only stated “Ay, ay ” and never anything else. The subject did not display any weapons. The victim was able to wrestle away from the subject and close her house door. She did state that he tried to stick his feet in the door but she was able to close it. She then called her son who then called police.
There was an unknown direction of travel for the subject. No subjects matching the description were seen in the area. Detectives were notified of the incident.
