Description of Offense : Aggravated Burglary, Theft Under $1000
On 1/25/2018 at 1054 Officer A arrived at 2827 South Rutherford Boulevard ( Student Quarters Apartments ) for a report of an aggravated burglary. Contact was made with the victim who advised she was awakened by a noise in the bedroom she was sleeping in to see an unknown black male at the foot of her bed going through her purse.
The victim stated once the male saw her move in the bed he fled from the room with the stolen items. Contact was made with complex employees who reviewed video surveillance. Video revealed a black male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black coat, light colored blue jeans and red shoes walking around the complex looking into apartment windows.
The male in question entered the unlocked patio door of the victim’s apartment at 10:21AM. The cameras, which are motion activated, did not show the suspect exit the patio door. The front door which leads to the breezeway was found unlocked but no cameras cover the area. The first contact on video surveillance showed the suspect enter the property on foot behind Building 12 as if he walked from the parking lot of Cookout. The suspect wandered around the parking lot, entered the victim’s apartment, and was not captured on surveillance after entering the apartment.
