Description Of Offense : Accidental Discharge
On 11/29/17 at approximately 0843 hours, Officer A and Officer B responded to the apartments at 210 Hillwood Boulevard in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, Officer A spoke with Officer C who had made contact with the complainant.
The complainant advised that he was getting ready to leave the apartment to go eat breakfast with his mother. He stated that he was tucking his Smith & Wesson MP 9mm in his waistband when it went off. The bullet struck his left butt cheek. The bullet then struck the floor before fragmenting and striking the wall and the guest bedroom door frame. The complainant was treated on scene by EMS before being transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford.
The complainant advised that he had another handgun in the master bedroom and a small amount of marijuana located in the laundry room area. The handgun was located by the bed and the marijuana was located in a kitchen drawer. The complainant was charged with simple possession and given a misdemeanor citation. A detective was notified and the Smith & Wesson was seized for safekeeping.
