A vehicle left the roadway and caught fire in the woods near the 74-mile marker on I-24 East Friday night. A sheriff’s deputy and a bystander were able to remove the occupant before crews arrived.
Ladder 11 was first on scene and found the vehicle fully involved. Firefighters pulled a handline and quickly brought the fire under control.
Rutherford County EMS transported the patient to Saint Thomas Rutherford.
