After 58 years in business, the beloved Polynesian restaurant Omni Hut in Smyrna is closing. Today, Oct 12, is the Omni Hut’s last day in business. Hours for Oct 12 are 11am-2pm. The restaurant is clearing inventory; some items may be sold out. Plan to come early as the restaurant has had a packed house during its last days in business.

Omni Hut opened in August 1960 and became a hot spot for locals. The decor, friendly staff and intriguing menu made Omni Hut a popular choice for locals. Favorite menu items included eggrolls, Shrimp Panamanian, Polynesian Ribs and so much more. Although the restaurant is closing, patrons can buy Omni Hut’s famous teriyaki sauce, so they can have a little piece of the restaurant at home.

The Omni Hut’s social media followers have been asking what will happen to the decor and if a cookbook is in the works. Unfortunately, there are no plans to release a cook book and the decor is not for sale.

The restaurant will post any updates to its website and Facebook Page.

Omni Hut is located at 618 Lowry St, Smyrna.
