OBITUARY: Thurston Harlon Moore

Thurston Harlon Moore, age 65, of LaVergne, TN, loving husband and father passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Thurston was born October 2,1953 in Erin, TN to the late George Jackson and Estelle Selph Moore. He graduated from Houston County High School in 1971, was a proud alumni of Auburn School of Pharmacy in 1977, and furthered his education at Trevecca Nazarene University and graduated with a Master’s in Counseling in May 2002. Thurston is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cairllon Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tandie Lamb Moore, two daughters, Courtney and Kayla Moore and three sisters, Peggy Fulton, Genett Herrington and Debbie Brown. Thurston was known for his larger than life sense of humor, love for his family and friends, willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and his passion and proud spirit for Auburn football. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 1:00PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in College Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 4-8:00PM, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Active Pallbearers are David Patterson, George Lamb Jr., Tommy Lamb, Paul Fitzgerald, John Hamilton, and Mark Tharp. Injured Reserve Pallbearer, Scott Fitzgerald.

The family wishes many thanks to all Physicians and staff of the Vanderbilt Palliative Care Unit and Deanna Moore, Alive Hospice RN, who were there for Thurston and the family with their daily care and support, Freddie Bowling for accompanying Thurston to his doctor’s appointments, and a big shout out to Amy Lufcy RN, his “adopted daughter” with Vanderbilt Home Health for her loving care of Thurston the past 1 ½ years.
