Shirley Marie Bowen, age 81, passed away on October 7, 2024 at Ascension St Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
She was a native of Winchester, a resident of Rutherford County and retired caregiver. Shirley was a faith-filled woman of God who loved and served Jesus. She spent her life loving her family and others. She always said she has had a wonderful life.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Albert L. Wiseman and Pauline Davis Wiseman; and siblings, Albert, Charles, Ricky, Brenda, Sheila.
She is survived by her husband, Nelson Bowen; son, Timothy (Stephanie) Bowen; daughters, Ginger Harmon, Vicky Climer, Sherry (William) Kubes, Cindy Bowen; brothers, Albert, Charles, Henry, Jimmy, Robert, James, and Ricky Wisman; sisters, Brenda, Ann, Sheila, Patricia, Bobbi, Mindy; 22 grandchildren, Kristyn, Joshua, Chelsea, Jacob, Daniel, Caitlyn, Rachel, Jessica, Sarah, James, Jennifer, Hannah, Breanne, Megan, Abby, Nicholas, Madison, Christopher, Brittany, Shiann, Aleyah, Rehanna; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 and 11:00-1:00, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home. Chapel service will follow at 1:30 PM with Tim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
