It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rose Mary Buchanan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on October 31, 2024, at the age of 68.
She was born on November 30, 1955, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to Mr. and Mrs. Turner.
Rose Mary’s warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, and her legacy will live on through her cherished family and friends.
Rose Mary grew up in McMinnville and graduated from Glencliff High School in 1973. Her intelligence and passion for learning shone brightly throughout her life. She had a particular love for reading, diving into all types of books that broadened her horizons and sparked her imagination. This love for literature was just one of the many ways she enriched her world and the lives of those around her.
On a beautiful day in March 2002, Rose Mary married the love of her life, James Buchanan, at the courthouse in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Their union was built on mutual respect, love, and a deep commitment to family. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with laughter, joy, and countless memories.
Rose Mary was a proud mother to her daughters, Aubrey, Tabitha (and her husband Corey), Brandy (and her husband Trent), and her son, Jamie (and his wife Rachel). She found immeasurable joy in her role as a grandmother, often referred to as “Grandma Row Row.” Her grandchildren—David, Brandon, Devon, Destiny, Dustin, Nicholas, Tristan, Abigail, and “The Bean Bag”—were the light of her life. Rose Mary cherished every moment spent with them, showering them with love, wisdom, and countless stories that they will carry in their hearts forever.
Though she faced the heartache of losing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Turner, Rose Mary remained resilient. She cultivated a loving family atmosphere that celebrated unity and love, which became a cornerstone of her legacy. Her strength and grace in the face of adversity inspired those who knew her.
As a person, Rose Mary was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a most honorable grandmother and wife, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. Her selflessness and nurturing nature made her a pillar of support for her family, and her spirit will be deeply missed.
Rose Mary’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and family. She leaves behind not only her husband and children but a legacy of compassion and strength that will continue to influence those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Rose Mary’s extraordinary life, where family and friends will gather to share memories, stories, and the love that she so generously bestowed upon all. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. A visitation will occur November 8, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm and a Celebration of Life to follow at 1 pm located at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1401 Lee Victory Parkway, Smyrna, TN 37167. https://www.simplecremationtn.com
