Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Ann Douglas, age 80, of Smyrna, TN passed away peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2024 at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She was born in Nashville, TN to the late Herman and Frances Carter Armes.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim Douglas; children, Tracey Reese and her husband Scott and Jeff Douglas and his partner Jennifer Dickens; grandson, Tate Douglas and his wife Paige; sister, Brenda Kirkendol; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Douglas graduated from Howard High School in 1963 where she was voted Best All Around her senior year. She lived up to the title her entire life. She retired (after almost 25 years) as the ICU unit secretary at the former Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

As a devoted wife, she cherished her marriage and built a beautiful life with her partner, becoming a cornerstone of their family. Pat and Jim’s love story is one to be envied by most. Her greatest joys came from being a mother and grandmother, particularly to her only grandchild, Tate, who brought her immeasurable happiness. Nana and Tate had a kinship out of this world; they both agreed one grandchild was plenty because she could never love another like she loved him.

Mrs. Douglas was known for her grace, elegance, and class. She had a passion for shopping and always found joy in the little things, whether it was finding the perfect outfit or planning memorable family holidays. Her love for her family shone brightly in every celebration and gathering. She loved dinners, diamonds and Dillard’s and she had a smile that literally brightened the room and despite the situation, she could smile on command; it was truly amazing.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love, loyalty and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
