Mrs. Patricia Sue “Pat” Heath, age 79 of Smyrna, Tennessee, daughter of the late Sam Brew and Lois McAnally Brew, passed peacefully at home from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on August 25, 2019. Patricia was born on March 2, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee. She attended school in Davidson and Rutherford counties, graduating from Donelson High School in 1958.

She was married for 59 years to Horace Heath, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2015. Their marriage was blessed with five children: Mark, Joseph, Susan, Steven, and David. Horace and Pat experienced great heartbreak when their eldest sons Mark and Joseph preceded them in death.

She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Stones River Baptist Church in Smyrna, Tennessee. Throughout her life, she served the Lord by teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, as a member of the Women’s Missionary Union, Samaritan’s Purse, Hospitality Committee, and other church outreach initiatives. Her heart was full of all the children she led to Christ, most particularly her own five children. Her Christian reach extended to faraway countries with the “Witness” dolls she sewed for children, praying a personal blessing over each one.

Pat delighted in cooking for others; and was a featured story in the Rutherford Courier newspaper with her homemade pizza recipe. For many years, Saturday night was Pizza Night at the Heath home, where family and friends would gather to use Pat’s homemade dough and sauce to make pizzas and enjoy family time together.

After Jesus, Patricia’s greatest love was for her family. She worked tirelessly to keep a happy, tranquil, loving home for Horace and her children. Some of the happiest memories are from yearly beach vacations with the whole family. Patricia’s trip to Europe in 1997 with a group of church friends was a particularly exciting experience for her.

Mrs. Patricia Heath is survived by her daughter, Susan Renee’ Woods and her husband Derek of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her sons Steven Troy Heath and David Samuel Heath with his wife Keri, and her sister Donna “Becky” Brew, all of Smyrna, Tennessee. Ten grandchildren: Levi, Jacob, Joshua, Andrew, Bridget, Nicole, and Angela Heath; Amy Cheek; Heath and Grace Woods; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, Tennessee is hosting Patricia’s services with visitation on Tuesday, August 27 from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 28. Reverends Joe Clark and Tony Hinton of Stones River Baptist will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Mapleview Cemetery, Smyrna, Tennessee.
