OBITUARY: Nannie Sue Compton Parker

Nannie Sue Compton Parker, age 94, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at St Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Nannie Sue was a member of Restoration Fellowship Church of God and a homemaker. Nannie Sue was married to her husband Sterling for sixty-one years.

Nannie Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie H. Compton and Ida Bell McCullough Compton; husband, Sterling Parker Jr; infant sons, (twins) Donnie and Ronnie Parker and Richard Parker; daughter-in-law, Katherine Lorance Parker; grand-son-in-law, Chris Fowler; granddaughter-in-law, Sandy Gray Parker; great grandchildren, Aiden Kincaid and Trazen Long; brothers, Grady Compton and Howard (Nonnie) Compton; sisters, Charline (Clark) Manus, Irene (Marvin) Holder and Lucy (Monroe) Spradley. She is survived by sons, Cecil (Jean) Parker of Murfreesboro, Bobby (Linda) Parker of Murfreesboro, Jeff (Nora) Parker of Murfreesboro, Freddy (Patricia) Parker of Shelbyville, Thomas (Debbie Caudill) Parker of Murfreesboro, Larry (Jody Dailey) Parker of Murfreesboro, Jimmy Parker of Only, TN, Kenneth (Debra) Parker of Readyville and Grady (Barbara) Parker of Woodbury; daughters, Wanda (Richard) Smith of Dickson, Wilma (Charlie) Sanford of Manchester and Patricia (Jim) Cormeny of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Ricky (Jamie) Parker, Kyle (Tammy) Parker, Kevin Parker, Russell Parker, Bryan (Margaret) Parker, Michael Parker, Laura (Kory) Hickerson, Raymond Brooks, Stacey Brooks, Rodney Brandon, Jennifer (Brad) Fletcher, Donald (Marta) Parker, Kendra (David) Pitner, Rodney Bogle, Amanda (Todd) Bell, Jamie (Justin) Mitchell, Richard (Renee) Smith Jr, Derrick (Ashley) Kincaid, Jamie (David) Ortega, Robin (Charles) Maddox, Jessie (Angela) Green and Josh (Ann Marie) Green, Nicholas Parker, Ashley (Nicholas) Hoffman, Jeremy Parker, April (Jamie) Williams, Amy Fowler and Tracy (Jantzen) Long, Adam (Melody) Todd, Amy Nichols, Rhett (Abby) Parker, Dalton (Kate) Parker, Dylan (Brooke) Parker, Brittany Dailey and Savannah Parker; and also survived by several nieces and nephews; fifty-seven great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Cheryl Simmons for being Nannie Sue’s special caregiver.

A church service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Restoration Fellowship Church of God, 657 DeJarnette Lane, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 with Juanita Weakley speaking and pastor James Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the church.
