Mildred Joyce Sloan, age 84, passed away August 1, 2024 peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family.
She devoted herself to a lifetime of christian service including 65 years of teaching the Bible.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Perry, Sr. and Lillie Mae Douglas Perry; beloved husband, Edward Leroy Sloan; and brother, Donald Edmund Perry.
She is survived by children, Sabrina Wilson and husband Timothy of Columbia, TN, Michael Sloan and wife Debra of Cape Coral, FL, Edward Sloan and wife Regina of Murfreesboro, Raymond Sloan and wife Michele of Apison, TN, Christopher Sloan and wife Sarah of Oceanside, CA; and brothers, Jerry Wayne Perry of Murfreesboro and William Henry Perry Jr and wife Wanda of Christiana; sister, Faye Melton of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Aaron Wilson and wife Keri, Ashlee Foor and husband Nathan, Anna Wilson, Crystal Newson and husband Brian, Cayla Wright and husband Bryce, Maggie Vick and husband Caleb, Lincoln Sloan and wife Brileigh, Steven Sloan and wife Brittani, Lauren Hodum and husband Samuel, Ethan Sloan, Marley Sloan, Ember Sloan; ten great-grandchildren; and beloved Sloan family in-laws.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until time of Homegoing service at 7:00 PM, Monday, August 5, 2024 at Centerpointe Apostolic Church, 1800 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro with Pastor Kevin Allen officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
