Michael V. Lathrop was born on January 29, 1963, and passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
The United States Military, Dallas Cowboys, Nashville Predators, Peanuts-these are all things that are synonymous with the name Mike Lathrop. When Mike loved something, everyone knew about it. And it made you want to love it too. “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams.
Mike wanted to take all he could from this life. He was up for any experience, and you couldn’t help but be inspired to do the same when you were with him. Being kind to people was as easy as breathing to Mike. And because of the love and respect he gave others, he received that same love and respect back. Snoopy once said, “You play with the cards you’re dealt… whatever that means.” That’s exactly what Mike did! The world unexpectedly lost the light that was Mike on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025. He was 62 years young.
Due to the unimaginable loss of Mike, we will all now have to learn how to “play with the cards we are dealt”…we will start to do this by honoring Mike on Friday, October 17th, at 9:00 am at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for a burial and full military honors. We will then proceed to North Boulevard Church of Christ for a visitation from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm, including a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM.
Michael V. Lathrop is survived by wife; Alice Lathrop, daughters, Rachel (Will) Young and Stacey (Christopher) Pugh, son, Thomas Lathrop; 6 grandchildren Embry Pugh, Preston Lathrop, Holden Pugh, Savannah Lathrop, Walker Pugh, and Canaan Pugh; brother; Richard (Phyllis) Roberts, sisters; Suzanne Costilow and Maureen Lathrop; mother in law, Sarah Garner; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
