Mary Elizabeth Cook, age 80, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born in Syracuse, NY, to the late Elmer William and Leta Mae Sipfle (Virgil).
Mary was married to her high school sweetheart for almost 62 years and was a devoted wife and mother.
She was a member of and actively involved with Delphi Falls United Methodist Church. Mary loved taking care of children both at home and in daycare. She enjoyed baking special occasion cakes, sewing various projects, was an avid reader, and loved doing word search puzzles.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her loving husband, Harry Cook; her children, Teena Field (Shawn), Bill Cook (Marilyn), Kelly Alderman, and Jennifer Morris (Randy); her grandchildren, David Windhausen, Kelly Ellis (Don), Jeff Cook (Mallory), Allison Alderman, Harry Alderman, and Hunter Morris; her sister, Nancy Proctor (Duane); five great-grandchildren, Greyson, Marley, Henry, Sydney, and Levi; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandi Manley, and grandsons, Ryan Field and Andy Cook.
The family will be having a private Celebration of Life.
