Martha Jane Blissard, age 86, passed away January 2, 2019. She was born in Knoxville and lived in Rutherford County since 1964. Martha retired from Standard Register and a member of the Methodist Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin David and Eula Lynch Miller; husband, Arthur Joe Blissard; brothers, Herman (Margaret) Williams, Gillis Carl (Chasie) Williams, Lloyd M. (Ella Mae) Miller, Donald (Una) Miller, Benjamin David (Ruby) Miller, Jr., John Edward (JoAnn) Miller and Carl Miller; sisters, Myrtle (Hugh) Miller Shephard, Bernice (Fred) Thomas, Margaret Elizabeth Miller Lee McCarter, and Elizabeth Jo Miller Lombardi. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Jane Miller Blissard (Howard) Brown, Deborah Irene Blissard (Richard Koth), Rebecca Jo Blissard (Billy) Merritt; step-son, William Blisard; grandchildren, David E. (Amanda) Baker, Jennifer Jane (Andrew) Wrenn, Josef Mikel (Lisa) Baker, Toby Lee (St. John) Merritt, Jeremiah Jon (Myra Botwin) McNeese, Nicholas (Scott) Merritt, Darryl (Beth) Blisard, and Michelle Blissard (Kendall) Scott; brother-in-law, Mario Lombardi; and many many great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be 12:00 until time of chapel service at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with Minister Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers, David Baker, Josef Baker, Toby Merritt, Jeremiah McNeese, Nicholas Merritt and Taylor Baker.
