Howard E. “Scotty” Scott, age 86, passed away at his residence July 29, 2019. He was born in Roanoke, VA and was a resident of Smyrna, TN. Howard was a member of Life Point Church, Smyrna, TN. He served as Deacon and former member of Ox Hill Baptist Church in Chantilly, VA. He also served in the United States Navy. Howard was a faithful servant of God showing the face of Jesus to others. Incredibly loving and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Forever smiling and sharing his warm, gentle spirit with everyone.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Gertrude Spraker Scott; and brothers, Roy, William and James Scott. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Scott; daughter, Hope (Gui) Bokoles; sons, Howard (Tina) Scott II, Paul (Rebecca) Scott; brothers, Donald, Butch and Richard Scott; sister, Delores Duraham; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and Buchanan and Dong families.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00 PM, Celebration of Life service at 6:00 PM, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Life Point Church with Military Honors. Benny Woods and Lenny Farmer officiating. Reception will follow.
A second Celebration of Life service will be August 31, 2019 in Chantilly, VA at Ox Hill Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Dr. Dean Majette officiating. Visitation with family at 10:00 AM. Reception will follow.
